Doubles. In doubles, you and a partner play against a team of two players on the other side of the net, using the full court between the baselines and the doubles sidelines. If you are on the team that serves first, either you or your partner may begin the match by serving the first ball.
The scoring rules in doubles are similar to those of singles. When your team wins a point, you are awarded “15, 30, 40, and game.” In most tournaments including on the professional tour, doubles is usually played with no-ad scoring.
Tennis doubles or doubles match is the match where 4 players play on the court, 2 players on each side as a team. Another difference is that the tennis doubles court size is 36 feet (10.97 meters) wide and 78 feet long. While in singles court size is 27 (8.2 meters) feet wide.
As a beginner starting to play doubles tennis, you should always try to move side to side when near the net. On the flip side, players in doubles game practice excessively to try and not hit the partner on the net.
This to me is one of the most important tips I can give for doubles. Basically, in doubles, one player will cover the ad side and the other the deuce side. However, there are occasions where players need to switch sides to cover for the other player.

Moreover, some techniques like volleying are more common in doubles than in singles competitions, therefore allowing doubles players to become expert at certain shots and tactics.

Most players are so concerned with hitting their favourite shots to their favourite spots that they never consider what their opponents favourite shots and spots are. This is huge in tennis at all levels, in all formats.
Another, however informal, tennis format is called Canadian doubles. This involves three players, with one person playing against a doubles team. The single player gets to utilize the alleys normally reserved only for a doubles team. Conversely, the doubles team does not use the alleys when executing a shot.
